The World Saxophone Quartet's imminent performances here will have people rushing for the group's CDs, but I will review some of them next month anyway. Ten Part Invention's concert on the 15th, in which extended works by Roger Frampton, Sandy Evans and Miroslav Bukovsky will be performed, should prompt a similar rush, if their sensational concert last month is anything to go by. It may seem that we review John Pochée's Ten Part Invention every six months. It is only a little less than that, but the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is reviewed quite often, too. After all, Ten Part Invention is the only ensemble as large as ten pieces that exists solely for the performance of new Australian jazz compositions.
